Connection Point Welcomes New Church Members
The Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.
As individuals come to know the love of Jesus, some are inspired to make The Salvation Army their church home. Those who take the step of becoming official members of The Salvation Army declare that they believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and seek to follow and become like him. They are people who participate in the worship, fellowship, service and support of a local Salvation Army Congregation; and they identify with the mission of The Salvation Army.
On Sunday, June 7th - Connection Point welcomed 5 official new members - 3 "Adherents" and 2 "Senior Soldiers."
Congratulations to Sarah Lalonde (Senior Soldier), Lori Bone (Senior Soldier), Colten Winthrope (Adherent), Michelle Lindley (Adherent), Stephanie Ferris (Adherent).
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Compass Conference 2026
At the conclusion of April, 6 delegates from Connection Point Church & Resource Centre attended the British Columbia Division's Compass Conference 2026 in Abbotsford. The Conference was inspired by The Global Strategic Framework set out by General Lyndon Buckingham. Each day of the conference focused on a different pillar of the strategic framework - People, Mission and Legacy.
Delegates came away encouraged to ensure that their lives and our collective work mirror the heart and mission of Jesus himself. General Buckingham challenged everyone to accept that when people walk into our ministry units, they should experience something completely different than the world has to offer. Something, Danielle Strickland says, that would cause people to ask, "what is that?"
Captain Laura shares, "a main takeaway from the week for me was this: If fear is the currency of oppression, then relationship is the currency of freedom - relationship with God and others. I came away feeling affirmed with the ministry that happens through Connection Point."

"Courage" New Group for Boys Ages 8-14 Launches on the Westshore
After the continued success of its monthly Brave and Brave Junior empowerment groups for girls; Connection Point has expanded its reach to boys. In February the inaugural Courage event took off with about a dozen boys in attendance for a mini cornhole tournament. In March boys gathered for a science experiment making their own elastic powered vehicles, and in April participants came away with their very own PVC pipe and balloon noise makers.
More than an offering of fun activities Courage exists to empower boys with a network of people to cheer them on in life.
